The 2020 vintage was challenging, but rewarding if the wine was nurtured and treated with caution. This wine was fermented in an open fermenter, plunged carefully to extract maximum colour and fine tannins, and treated with high-end French oak for 13 months to complement the fruit. The result is a wine of excellent character, great structure and balance, lovely palate length and a wine that will cellar for many years.
It displays excellent cool climate fruit character and tannins but has the balance to reward pairing with rich dishes such as Osso Bucco and roast meats or the subtle flavours of terrine and duck.
